Injectables Q & A
What are injectables?
Injectables are an effective and convenient nonsurgical cosmetic treatment that Dr. Bouzaglou administers using a tiny hypodermic needle to carefully deliver various substances to diminish wrinkles, fine lines, and facial folds.
Injectables can restore fullness and volume to your face to reveal a more youthful look. The products are only available through a prescription and are administered by a qualified aesthetic professional with special training. Injectables can temporarily resolve a range of cosmetic concerns.
Why would I choose injectables?
The Center for Plastic Surgery and Med Spa provides a range of effective injectables to treat a number of problems.
Injectables can:
- Plump lips
- Reconstruct facial contour deformities
- Soften wrinkles, fine lines, facial folds, and creases
- Reduce or remove the lower lid shadow
- Improve shallow contours
- Enhance the appearance of recessed scarring
Dr. Bouzaglou can help you determine which injectable is the right choice for you.
What different injectables are available?
The Center for Plastic Surgery and Med Spa offers various injectables for you to choose from, including Bellafill®, Botox, Dysport, Restylane®, and Sculptra®.
Injectables have specific purposes and contain different ingredients, such as calcium hydroxyapatite and hyaluronic acid.
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport and Juveau
BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport are brand names, and both are made from an organism called Clostridium botulinum that’s naturally present in forests, lakes, and soil. Although it’s a toxin, the tiny, controlled dose used in Botox injections is completely safe and effective. Both products reduce the appearance of wrinkles by preventing muscle contractions.
Restylane
Restylane is an injectable that’s formulated with hyaluronic acid, and it works immediately to add volume and smooth away wrinkles. It’s often used for wrinkles around the nose and mouth, as well as for lip enhancement.
Revance Aesthetics RHA
Designed to be resilient enough to adapt to your facial movement. RHA® uses a gentle manufacturing process with few chemical modifications. This helps preserve the natural structure of the HA, allowing it to mimic the natural HA found in your skin. RHA® 2 and RHA® 3 are indicated for injection into the mid-to-deep dermis for the correction of moderate to severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (NLF), in adults aged 22 years or older.
Bellafill
Bellafill is the only 5-year filler FDA approved to help with acne scarring. Bellafill contains tiny, polymethyl methacrylate microspheres that are suspended in a base of smooth collagen gel. Over time, the microspheres prompt natural collagen production. Bellafill injections smooth out smile lines for long-lasting results.
Sculptra
Sculptra Aesthetic contains poly-L-lactic acid which is a collagen stimulator that helps restore the deep, underlying structure of your skin. When injected into areas with deep wrinkles and folds, it triggers your skin to rebuild collagen overtime to restore facial volume.
